We are not doctors, not psychiatrists or counselors...we are a brother and sister who have battled ED and BD and, through our faith in God, are here to tell our stories.  Our hope is that through our stories of personal struggles, challenges and experiences we can mentor, inspire and provide hope to others struggling with ED and BD.

a.k.a.- ED

- any of a range of psychological disorders (including anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating and over eating characterized by abnormal, disturbed and persistent eating behaviors that negatively impact your health, your emotions and your ability to function in important areas of life.   Eating disorders are commonly identified by, referred to as and/or personified by the name Ed.

a.k.a.- BDD, Body Dysmorphia

- a psychological disorder characterized by distorted body image, persistent and intrusive preoccupations with an imagined or slight defect in one's appearance.  In many cases, the person believes they are ugly or defective and that others perceive them in this way, despite reassurances and/or validation from others about their appearance. BDD is commonly considered to be an obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorder, based on similarities it has with obsessive-compulsive disorder. 

Eating disorders, including anorexia and bulimia, are complicated, serious and potentially devastating. They’re caused by a complex combination of factors, including genetic, biochemical, psychological, cultural and environmental. While researchers haven’t been able to pinpoint the specifics behind these causes, they can identify various factors that make individuals susceptible to eating disorders.
